What You Will Receive
As a participant in the Island Futures Lab, you will receive:
● Professional instruction from experienced facilitators
● Hands-on practical training
● One-on-one mentoring

● Opportunities to test products in the marketplace
● Networking with entrepreneurs and industry professionals

What We Expect From You
To help everyone succeed, we ask each participant to:
● Attend all scheduled sessions whenever possible. You will be provided $5 in bus compensation per day. Classes are from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm Mondays and Wednesdays at Belmont estate’s conference room. You are expected to attend 90% of the in-person courses and complete 100% of the online courses and assessments. Virtual support is available from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm on Fridays, the mechanism to interact for this element has yet to be determined.
● Participate actively in discussions and practical activities while attending in-person classes. Refreshments will be provided each day.
● Engage in the online course material prior to meeting in class. Your scheduled courses will be conveyed prior to class meetings via email and/or WhatsApp chat group. Be prepared to discuss this material in class.
● Complete assignments, assessments, practical activities, and track-specific requirements on time. You will be provided with access to the tools, training spaces, and support needed for programme activities. Your assignments will be conveyed during class meetings and/or email and WhatsApp chat group.
● After the courses are complete, you will be expected to train on-site in the Youth Innovation Store where your products will be sold. The length of training is subject to change however, anticipate working once a week on site for several months as you build your business.
● Upon completion of courses, you will have one or more industry professionals mentoring you through the building of your business.
